South Station will be seeing a change as Tavern in the Square is set to open this Thursday, January 30th. The property was previously occupied by Clarke’s two years ago and is located under the Amtrak board in the station’s concourse.
Boston Business Journal states, “the 800-square-foot spot will offer 40 seats, 32 craft beers, a limited menu of appetizers, salads, soups, and sandwiches priced from $10 to $14.”
Equity Office manages the property and the owners of the restaurant will pay $108,000 in annual rent and plans to spend $250,000 to renovate the space.
Tavern in the Square is not the only new addition to South Station. A Starbucks, Barbara’s Books, and a 30,000 square-foot CVS will also be opening.
