The summer weather is here to stay. Why not go for a swim ? For you we gathered the 5 best swimming pools in Boston.
1. Zesiger Center at MIT
MIT’s Zesiger Center is allowing non-students to use its pools and believe us these are super nice ones (one is 50 meters with a one meter diving board, the other is 25 yards with six lanes). The Zesiger Center also offers programs including women’s only swim and recreational diving. A single non-student day pass is $15.
2. Mirabella Pool
Run by the city itself, the Mirabella pool is a very popular summer pool right by the harbor in the North End. In the summer, the pool fills up quickly with kids and sunbathers—so if you want to swim laps we advise you come early morning. Pay $15 once (or $3 for a day pass) and swim all summer season! One of the best swimming pools in Boston.
3. Cambridge Family YMCA
If you are looking for another inexpensive pool the Central Square YMCA is made for you. Even though this basement pool is pretty old school, and has a weird 20 yard length, it has three lanes and is ideal for regular swimmers. Monthly memberships are $45-55 depending on age (alternately $20 for a week pass or $10 for a day pass).
4. Wang YMCA of Chinatown
Another YMCA pool, the Wang YMCA is home to a 25 yard pool with five lanes and has a complete aquatics program schedule, including lap swim times. Membership runs $49 monthly for adults over 30 and $31 monthly for those 18-29. You can also choose to get a free 3-day guest pass if you just want to try it out.
5. Equinox Sports Club
If you are looking for a fancy and expensive pool, the Equinox Sports Club would probably be the best pool for you. This elite club is home to a luxurious 25 yard pool with individual lanes set up.
